InventHelp, America's largest invention company, is excited to launch their newest commercial campaign. The Pittsburgh-based inventor services company has created a new spot that highlights their services and benefits and emphasizes their 30+ years of experience in the invention industry.
InventHelp assists inventors with new product ideas by creating materials representing their idea and submitting them to companies who have agreed to review new ideas. InventHelp can also provide a low-cost patent referral, which has resulted in over 10,000 patents for their clients. The new commercial calls attention to the story of Barbara Winfield, inventor of Mrs. B's Cheesecake Pan, which eventually was renamed the Perfect Cheesecake Pan. Retired teacher, Barbara Winfield, wanted a better cheesecake pan. Her goal: to find a pan that would not only ensure the cheesecake would bake evenly, but would also eliminate the need to use a second pan during the baking process. Like many inventors, Barbara couldn't find the exact pan she was looking for on the market so she decided to invent her own. It was at that moment the Perfect Pan was born. Barbara's Perfect Pan not only ensures a cheesecake bakes evenly but it also prevents dips from forming in the cake. In addition, it does indeed eliminate the hassle of having to use a second pan, which can be cumbersome for bakers. According to Barbara, "I was so tired of dirtying extra dishes while making my cheesecakes. I knew there had to be a better way to make the process more efficient." Believing other bakers would have an interest in her cheesecake pan, Barbara contacted her local InventHelp® sales office in October of 2010 to purchase submission services and be referred to a patent attorney. In August of 2011, the InventHelp DataBank® submitted a brochure of Barbara's Perfect Pan to New York-based Chef's Planet, a company that designs, manufactures and markets a broad range of kitchen housewares products around the world. Founded in 2002, Chef's Planet products are available for purchase at retailers such as William's-Sonoma, Bed Bath & Beyond, Sur La Table and hundreds of independent kitchenware stores. After receiving the brochure, the National Sales Manager from Chef's Planet, John Cooper, contacted Intromark Incorporated, InventHelp's sister licensing company, for more information about the invention. After a few conversations with Chef's Planet, Intromark Licensing Executive, Justine Mayowski and the inventor, negotiations began to establish a license agreement for the Perfect Pan. After two months, Intromark negotiated a royalty and advance for Barbara. This inventor has not made a financial gain with their invention. Another InventHelp client, Larry Cole, inventor of the Side Sleeper Pro Air, recently had his invention licensed, sold in several stores, and included in TV ads. Previously, the SideSleeper Pro, an InventHelp licensed client product, was available in Bed, Bath & Beyond stores across the country. Allstar Products Group LLC, the company that licensed the pillow revamped the product and developed an updated version, filled with air beads. The Side Sleeper Pro Air can now be seen in new TV ads running across the country. "We are pleased that one of our client's products was on the shelves of one of the largest home and housewares chains in the country. Due to the life cycle of products, we're excited that the product has taken on another form and has a new opportunity for sales," said Ronny Smith, Director of Intromark. "The InventHelp client, Larry Cole, a doctor of chiropractics, designed the SideSleeper Pro so people would be trained to sleep in the best position possible in order to avoid twisting the neck and spine while sleeping." The pillow has a unique ear hole that serves two InventHelp Invention Service purposes; the ear does not fold over itself as it does with conventional pillows and secondly, the ear fits in the ear hole while the pillow is in the correct position, allowing the neck and spine to remain in a line. This reduces strain on the spine, neck, and upper and lower back. Because of this support, a person wakes up more rested and energetic. The license was originally signed with Integrated Merchandise Group International (IMG), of Mamaroneck, N.Y. Subsequently, IMG and InventHelp signed an agreement with Allstar Products Group for national retail distribution and direct response television sales. Allstar is the marketer of well known "As Seen on TV" products, such as the Snuggie®, Topsy Turvy® and Bumpits®. The product has previously been featured and sold on QVC, and was highlighted in a Wall Street Journal article about inventions and innovation. The SideSleeper Pro was sold at Altmeyers, Wal-Mart, Walgreens and Kmart. Past direct response and retail sales have reached more than $6 million. IMG and Allstar Products Group, LLC, are both members of the InventHelp Data Bank and have agreed to feature InventHelp's Caveman logo on each SideSleeper Pro and Side Sleeper Pro Airpackage. Initially, IMG and its partners created an infomercial and ran it as a test on television. We are pleased to report that InventHelp's services have resulted in a financial gain for Dr. Cole. All product names, logos, and brands are property of their respective owners. All company, product and service names used in this website are for identification purposes only. Use of these names, logos, and brands does not imply endorsement. The above results are not typical as most client inventions are not licensed, manufactured, sold in stores and do not appear in infomercials or on television shopping networks. From 2015-2017, we signed Submission Agreements with 6,564 clients. As a result of our services, 166 clients have received license agreements for their products, and 49 clients have received more money than they paid us for these services. Invention trade shows provide great opportunities to network with industry professionals, licensing companies, and fellow inventors. It is essential to be prepared to network with many different people because you will see hundeds of faces within a period of a few short hours or days.
A few weeks leading up to the trade show, cross the following items off your list to make sure you are ready to make the most of all networking opportunities: 1. Make Your Business Cards Stand Out In a sea of black-and-white logo business cards, yours needs to stand out among the bunch. Consider using colors, eye-grabbing graphics, or different textures. If you utilize social media for your invention, be sure to include those profiles with your other contact information. Advertisements When handing out business cards, if you’ve had a meaningful interaction with someone, jot a quick note on the back of your business card for a personal touch. 2. Give Away Branded Items There’s no denying people love free things. Most trade show exhibitors have caught onto this, but one common mistake is giving away items which aren’t branded or aren’t connected to your product. Don’t give away chocolate if your product is related to fitness, and reconsider that notepad if your invention involves recycling. Pens, key chains, flashlights, and similar items are always safe bets, but aren’t the most creative options. Ensure your brand name or logo is spelled correctly and looks good on your promotional items. 3. Bring a Buddy . . . or two or three. Ideally, your booth is going to receive a lot of traffic. If you’re busy talking to an industry representative, it is helpful to have team members there who can hand out promotional items and answer questions. Your team members might not be as knowledgeable about your product as you are, and that’s okay! Give them an in-depth rundown before the show and fact sheets to use during the trade show. The extra hands will also be helpful during the set up and tear down times for your booth. 4. Be Approachable Invention trade shows can be a little stressful with all the commotion and the crowd. It is important to remember to how to pitch an idea to a company stay calm and be approachable even if you are frazzled. Let your personality shine through and be passionate when talking about your invention. Remember body language: keep your arms uncrossed to appear approachable, stand up straight to appear confident, and use great eye contact to appear genuine. Every first impression you make is essential to building your brand and business, so make it count. 5. Know Your Pitch Your elevator pitch is quite possibly the most important thing you bring to an invention trade show. It should be about two minutes long, and in that time you should be highlighting the benefits and features of your invention. A catchy intro will also help you get the attention of the listener. Practice this in the mirror in the weeks leading up to the event. When the time comes, be sure you’re not just droning out a memorized speech; think about and believe each word you say. A captivating elevator pitch could help you convince a potential investor or licensor your new product or invention is right for them. Automated cars went from flying under the radar to being prevalent in the media in just a few short months. But sometimes that is the way innovation works—merely a lone concept one day, and before you know it, many companies have a prototype underway.
Innovation can be trendy. Innovation can solve problems. Innovation can help people. Over the next half-century, we need to see invention ideas which bring high tech into the average home, further develop existing inventions, and improve quality of life. Here are a few ideas: Environmental Impact Monitoring There is no denying, humans make an impact on the world around us, and generally, it’s not in a positive way. Part of the problem is how easy it is to flick your cigarette on the ground or throw an old TV out InventHelp Headquarters with the trash without any feedback on how those actions impact the environment. An educational, informational tool which can measure environment-harming behaviors and provide personal data in an easily consumable manner would educate people on these matters and hopefully influence them to change their habits. |
